My 30 day trial version of Photoshop CS2 just expired and I have a couple .psd files with my saved work. Now I'm asking if I was to purchase Photoshop CS3 would I be able to open my version CS2 .psd saved files while running version CS3 of Photoshop? Thanks.

yes psd files open with all editions of PS.
Yes. PSDs should open in the most recent version of PS you have installed on your computer. It will also open in Photoshop Elements.
yes they well .psd just mean photoshop file they well also work with gimp witch is free alternative to ps
