Spyware is every known malware which installs in your computer without your permission usually reporting any general or internet activity sending reported information back to it's developer. As spyware are classified key-stroke loggers, spam robots and others

i think it is a file/files that watch what you are doing and send data to another computer and reports what you are doing also it can control/run your PC like it can make things really annoying for you like lock all your files so when you hit delete, move or rename they will not do it and are locked. They really are annoying and harm full. (i use AntiSpywareBot it is brand new and works a miracle i fins tones of spyware that i thought i didn't have!)
'Spyware' means different things to different people and there isn't a 100% agreed definition, although the Wikipedia definition is probably about as close as it gets.

Sometimes the term is used to include adware, even cookies and MRUs, both of which are pretty harmless in themselves. Anti-spyware companies sometimes like to include these things as it simply bumps up the number of things their product can detect and remove.
